You've just dropped the World Cup...

3 hours of fielding on Monday. THREE! Genuinely good session though.

Started off by usual warm-ups, runs round the pitch (side-stepping, backwards, heel flicks + knees up, etc.) and dynamic stretching. Moved onto games such as setting up 2 stumps about 30 yards apart, splitting into teams of 5 and rolling/underarm throws between teams, trying to hit the stump, the other team trying to intercept. Other fielding drills, such as chasing and getting the ball back to the keeper in the time that someone runs a 2, high catches, close catches, shying practice, etc. Finished off with little Bob absolutely pelting a cricket ball in the air for you to catch. Needless to say, I dropped my first one, disappointingly. Didn't pick it up, but shouldn't have dropped it, even if I did move too far forward. Oh well! Got a text off the Uni 3rds skipper, asking if I'm available for the 10th for a match, hoping that this will push me into contention for the 2's.
